Dear Chief

Dear Elder Chief Big Wind,

Happy Holidays!
I'd like to start out by fist-bumping you into the New Year.
Did you have a Merry Christmas?

For my first ever Christmas, I got some cool stuff from Santa,

some more stuff to put in my mouth from mom,

...some stuff I needed dad's (Little Sipper) help with,

...and some awesome adventure-packed fun from my grandparents!

(Vroom-vroom, Grandma Little Pony!)

But there's just one thing that I didn't get. I asked my dad all about it, and he said I'd have to ask Elder Chief Big Wind. So, I'm asking...

Chief Big Wind, when do I get my Indian name?

You may need some help... I'm VERY chill, and it's rare to see me cry, or upset at all.

(I don't think I should be named after your son, Crying Brave.)

I'm very happy and have big red cheeks like my Grandma.

I'm also a very big boy. Even though I'm only 1/2 a year old, I'm almost as big as my cousin who turned 3 today.

I'm also very coordinated. Not only am I starting to stand and sit up all on my own, but dad has been helping me to become an up-and-coming World Series pitcher.

I'm also very cuddly, extremely easy to love, and am easily content with anyone who chooses to love me.

So, Mr. Big Wind, please, pretty please with a bow on top,

Won't you please tell me my new Indian name?

All my love,
Porter David Sowa

I am SO excited for Christmas. Daddy asked me what I think Santa is going to bring me, and I thought and thought...

Maybe a basketball, since at 6 months, I'm already the average height of a 15-month old (but ONLY as heavy as an average 12-month old...)

Mom's been helping me to get ready for Christmas Day.

I'm completely sitting up now, so I'm ready to open all those packages.

One night mom & dad wanted to get my picture in front of some Christmas lights...

...but I just couldn't take my eyes off of them to look at the camera...

My favorite was a lit-up Santa driving a plane. It was so cool that I danced while smiling in amazement.

Later that night, mom found me trying to figure out what was in my package...

Busted!!!

Santa Clause is coming to town!

Santa Clause made it to my town. When the day came to finally meet him, everyone kept asking if I was going to be afraid...

I wasn't afraid at all. He asked me what I wanted for Christmas and I told him that all I want for Christmas is my mom to stop embarrassing me.

I thought it was so nice of Santa to let me sit in his lap that I decided to let Santa sit in my lap.

I think I'm going to like Christmas.

Giving Thanks

I have so much to be thankful for this holiday season.
My mommy & daddy love me,
my Grandma, Grandpa, Nana & Papa adore me,
my tummy is full
and my hair is cool.
So many reasons to give thanks:

Thank you, God, for giving me such a calm demeanor, even when chaos surrounds me.
(Mom thanks You for that too.)

Thank you for my new baby friend, Linden Blaine.

Thank you for playing with me.

Thank you for hugs - I love them.

Thank you for family.

Thank you for girlfriends (we're just pretending).

Thank you for using me as motivation to make your own babies (I'm really convincing).

Thank you for being one cool dude.

Thanks, dude, for letting me borrow your mommy... She really is the coolest.

What I'm trying to say is, "Thank you."

Attack of the Giggles

I'm growing stronger & more alert every day now. I've been getting tons of workout time the past few weeks in my stand-up gym - my new favorite toy.

(This looks tasty!)

I'm a big flirt and I LOVE to smile.

My favorite past-time, though, is giggling. Check out my video:

Hope you're giggling now, too.

Angels & Demons

Just as I was headed into my 20th week, heaven sent snow taller than me.

Mom says I'm her snow angel and that I'm bound to love the snow just as much as dad does.

While we were watching it snow, mom & I got ready for my first ever Halloween party!

My best friends, Ellery, Sofie and Ben were all there.

Ben and I had so much fun rolling around on the ground. He's 4 months older, but I'm just as big as he is!

I was the cutest little giraffe mom has ever seen.

Later that night I wore my scary jam-jams and played with my new Halloween toy from Nana Lee. Being the scary toy that it was, I wasn't too sure about it at first...

So I just decided to clobber those Halloween toads.

Can we do this Halloween thing again sometime...

Pretty please with spiked hair on top?

Football, first snow...must be fall!

I'm filling out this fall! I just had my 4-month appointment, and I'm in the 97th percentile for weight, 98th for height.

I took a walk with mom...

...& Axl for the first time in my back yard at 17 weeks.

That first snow put a big smile on my face - I think I'm going to love winter just as much as dad.

I was so excited that fall was in the air that I begged mom & dad to take me to the pumpkin festival.

After picking out my first pumpkin,

(This one's MINE)

I decided it was time to chill with my pumpkin friends.

And what is autumn without great football? Wearing my own throw-back helmet (thanks, Aunt Bryn!) I anxiously watched the Broncos win their 6th game against the Chargers.

(Eddie Royal makes me drool.)

Looking forward to Halloween. How fun is fall?
