The Birth Story

At 12:30 p.m. on June 13, Reagan was at the funeral of Jeffrey Thompson, waddling into the reception with her arm inside her dad's when she felt something unusual. One more step told her that her days of discomfort were soon to be over. Proceeding to the restroom with each gushing step, her sister, Ob-gyn Jenny, was soon notified that the water-bag had broken. Nana Ne, Jackie, Zach and Chad...as well as the entire funeral procession were also informed of the impeding birth of "Corgan." In the restroom, Reagan managed to clog up the toilet trying to clean herself of the excessive water, and the entire women's bathroom was soon flooded. Some were under the impression that the water was all from the pregnant woman...

Needless to say, after many congratulations from old family friend, a frenzied debate over who should take and follow Reagan to the hospital, soiled towels and blankets, an almost t-bone car wreck with Chad, and a stop at a gas-station to fill up the empty car, Reagan arrived home over an hour after the water had broken. Corey had been notified and instructed to purchase "the largest maxi-pads he could find...or Depends" and was pacing at home when Reagan arrived. Hurried, Jenny & Nana Ne helped to pack Reagan's bag, while contractions grew stronger.

Arrival at the hospital informed that mom-to-be was 5 cm dilated. Porter David Sowa was born to Reagan Anne and Corey David at that magical moment of 6:57 p.m. He weighed 8 pounds and measured 20 1/2 inches long.
