Dear Chief

Dear Elder Chief Big Wind,

Happy Holidays!
I'd like to start out by fist-bumping you into the New Year.
Did you have a Merry Christmas?

For my first ever Christmas, I got some cool stuff from Santa,

some more stuff to put in my mouth from mom,

...some stuff I needed dad's (Little Sipper) help with,

...and some awesome adventure-packed fun from my grandparents!

(Vroom-vroom, Grandma Little Pony!)

But there's just one thing that I didn't get. I asked my dad all about it, and he said I'd have to ask Elder Chief Big Wind. So, I'm asking...

Chief Big Wind, when do I get my Indian name?

You may need some help... I'm VERY chill, and it's rare to see me cry, or upset at all.

(I don't think I should be named after your son, Crying Brave.)

I'm very happy and have big red cheeks like my Grandma.

I'm also a very big boy. Even though I'm only 1/2 a year old, I'm almost as big as my cousin who turned 3 today.

I'm also very coordinated. Not only am I starting to stand and sit up all on my own, but dad has been helping me to become an up-and-coming World Series pitcher.

I'm also very cuddly, extremely easy to love, and am easily content with anyone who chooses to love me.

So, Mr. Big Wind, please, pretty please with a bow on top,

Won't you please tell me my new Indian name?

All my love,
Porter David Sowa

I am SO excited for Christmas. Daddy asked me what I think Santa is going to bring me, and I thought and thought...

Maybe a basketball, since at 6 months, I'm already the average height of a 15-month old (but ONLY as heavy as an average 12-month old...)

Mom's been helping me to get ready for Christmas Day.

I'm completely sitting up now, so I'm ready to open all those packages.

One night mom & dad wanted to get my picture in front of some Christmas lights...

...but I just couldn't take my eyes off of them to look at the camera...

My favorite was a lit-up Santa driving a plane. It was so cool that I danced while smiling in amazement.

Later that night, mom found me trying to figure out what was in my package...

Busted!!!

Santa Clause is coming to town!

Santa Clause made it to my town. When the day came to finally meet him, everyone kept asking if I was going to be afraid...

I wasn't afraid at all. He asked me what I wanted for Christmas and I told him that all I want for Christmas is my mom to stop embarrassing me.

I thought it was so nice of Santa to let me sit in his lap that I decided to let Santa sit in my lap.

I think I'm going to like Christmas.
