Easter 2013

Easter is a time of happiness and celebration.  Apparently, Emma Rose missed the memo as we began dyeing Easter Eggs... But the kids ended up having a blast.

This Easter morning, Porter actually snuck down early and found that the Easter Bunny had left him THE thing that he's been saving his money for: a snow plow for his Bruder trucks... (side note: we've been teaching him about giving back to God and saving money for things he wants, and he has been so cute to watch as he struggles - happily - over what will go to his snow plow truck and what he will give back to God...)

Emma Rose could have cared less for the toys she got in her Easter basket because she got her favorite sugar snack: Annie's Bunny Snacks!

The kids were so cute to watch gathering hidden Easter eggs.

After we went to church with all the Leavitt cousins, aunts and uncles, the two got to celebrate some more with their cousins - Porter was in 7th heaven, showing off and running around with his head cut off.

Happy Easter, everyone!

Weathering March

With all the crazy weather this month, we've made the most of it and stayed busy.  We took the kids to the zoo a few times - quite possibly their favorite place on earth...

Emma Rose's exploding personality just gets bigger and more hilarious with each passing month.  She loves to do all things that her big brother does, but she definitely adds her own flare to all of it.

Porter ADORES the snow and loves to "plow" just like his daddy - whether that means doing it with one of his Bruder trucks or with his shovel that he pretends to be a plow, or with his own body that he turns into a plow truck.  He is really imaginative and makes up work situations all the time, talking to his work friends and developing construction and snow scenarios.

Emma Rose pretends to like the snow because Porter likes it so much, but whereas he could stay outside for hours, her snow days last about 15 minutes before she realizes, "this really stinks and I'm cold..." She takes after her mama that way.

... I honestly think she gets more excited about dressing up for the snow that she likes the snow itself.  She loves accessories, especially hats!

Porter definitely enjoys the boyish accessories as well...

And the faces that go with them!
This is my "I get no respect..." face!

We started the kids in soccer this month.  The first practice was a total disaster - this is the only semi-normal second that Emma Rose was caught participating (she spent almost the entire hour on all fours, meowing and licking the ball like a cat.)

Porter loves it and is really catching on!

This was a cute picture on daddy's birthday - visual proof that Porter is nuts about his dad!

And here is Emma Rose singing happy birthday:

Happy Birthday month to Daddy and Mommy.  We're looking forward to another great year of life, and a warm Spring filled with joy and toddler-centric adventures!
