Where did May go???

I can't believe May has already come and gone.  The kids are getting so big.  Porter's "terrible 3" days are nearly over (though Emma Rose is in the height of "sassy-2's") and it's been so fun to watch them become closer and closer friends who adore each other about 75% of the time...

Emma Rose is pure personality on wheels.  She sings all the time ("You are my sunshine" is her personal favorite; and, cute story: the other morning she crawled in bed with me at about 5 am and was stroking my face.  "I love you," I told her, to which she responded, "Why, mama? Cuz I your sunshine, make you happy?"), and she dances to her own tune.

I love this picture - we took a long bike ride up to the Highlands on Mother's Day, and the kids fought for a good hour of the ride before finally comforting each other and singing to each other.  This is how we found them at the end of the ride:

Porter continues to be a little ladies' man.  This is his preschool girlfriend, Caitlyn (Erin and Stella were his other 2, but he says that Caitlyn is his REAL girlfriend).

Porter finished his first year of preschool with a field day that started with circle-time, and then led to sidewalk chalk, tug-of-war, and hop scotch.  He didn't like the bean-bag toss though; in fact, when we were talking about fun activities to play for his upcoming birthday, he told me, "Mom, I don't want to have a bean bag toss because I'm not very good at it."

Emma Rose HAD to help Porter with the artistic stuff, of course...

We also got a new kitten, Daisy.  She is a sweet, wild little girl, tortured by the kids but quickly worming her fuzzy little way into my soul.

Of course May brought tons of fun in the sun.  The kids would sleep outside if they could!

"Baby Haley" joined the kids for a day outside in the sun.  Since then, Porter and Emma Rose have been playing grown-ups, and Porter is "Corey" and he always has to do a ton of construction jobs to do for "Jackie" (Emma Rose), and of course Jackie has to take care of her baby doll, "Haley."

Since Porter left his strider bike under the wheel of Corey's truck, we've been talking about getting him a bigger bike, and he's had to become really innovative about how he plays outside since he no longer has the rush of going 90 miles an hour on that thing.  So he pulls trucks and other things so he can do his construction jobs.

We took Porter bike shopping the other day, and Emma Rose ran off and found her own helmet and bike and kept on saying, "Look me!!! I cool!!!  Look me!!!  I cute." Yes you are...

My first official day of summer started on June 5.  The kids and I went to the zoo:

I'm so happy summer is here and that the kids are at such a fun age!
