'Twas the week before Christmas...

It was non-stop Christmas action around our house for the entire first half of December.  Rudy, the kids' personally-named elf, has had a lot of fun shenanigans.  Here are a few of the places and activities that the kids found Rudy up to:

... And their personal favorite....

It's been a warm, snow-less December.  The kids got to spend a fun evening at the park, seeing who could reach the moon first:

Since we'll be in Costa Rica over Christmas, we celebrated with the Leavitt-family a little early.  Santa visited Nana & Papa's house early.  Here are the kids waiting to go open their stockings, just like my brothers and sister and I had to when we were younger:

(I love that Emma Rose has to be "Snow White" whenever we are at Nana and Papa's house!)

The best part of the day was when the rest of the cousins joined in for Christmas celebrations!

Porter was so tired that night that he passed out as soon as he hit the couch!

And we had our own little early Christmas celebration at home.  Rudy let the kids know that Santa would drop off part of his load a little early, since it was too heavy to bring all of the kids' toys to Costa Rica, where we'd be for Christmas.  So Emma Rose, Porter, and I made some cookies, and put out a special pouch of Reindeer booty for Rudolph:

And sure enough, Santa came early!

He even left some special toys for the cats!

And one last gift that Santa left in the playroom - Santa & Rudy put together Emma Rose's new dollhouse from Nana & Papa, and gave Porter a new lego-table.

Here are a couple pictures of the kids enjoying their presents!

We had a wonderful pre-Christmas celebration.

We headed to Costa Rica a few days later, in celebration of our 10-year Anniversary and beautiful family!
