We have had a few days of many celebrations! 50 Years of marriage, being a father, eight years of life, five years of life, and the gift of a new little life were all celebrated this past weekend. Needless to say, I'm pooped!
To begin, on June 17, 1967, my mom and dad were married. Many years, events, kids, and grandkids later, we celebrated 50 years of commitment, of riding through the good, the bad, and the ugly. My brother, Chad, gave a beautiful toast that helped us to all realize how long 50 years really is...
My dad gave my mom a beautiful ring to commemorate their 50 years, and the family had a wonderful time of remembering and celebrating before sending them off for a couple nights at the Broadmoor, with 50 cards from friends and family, sending them notes of congratulations.
Prior to that, Porter had a little birthday party with his two best buddies, and his cousins at his favorite indoor pool complex:

The next morning, we celebrated Haley's 5th birthday!
Sunday was Father's Day, and we had a nice time celebrating with Jerry and Sherry, Bill and Launni, Bryn, and Holden.
And the kids and I were so thrilled to meet my dear friend, Alyson's new family addition, Ollie.
Porter wants a baby brother... Just sayin...
But after a weekend like that, I realize how many good and beautiful gifts there are in life. Some celebrations are really worth fighting for.
That's a lot of celebrating. I am so happy for Tim and Renee - that is many years in anybody's counting. It is good to see all of you. I love the ring.
ReplyDeleteAnd happy birthday to the kids. Looks like fun times.
