"Born curious, I love to keep you guessing."

I'm a Gemini, that's for sure.

Since the day I was born, I have LOVED looking all around- that must be my curious nature.

Sometimes, mom & grandma just sit me down and watch me as I stare at the sky and the world around me. They try to guess what it is that makes me giggle & coo, but only I really know.

It wasn't until just recently that I even bothered to look down. I discovered my toes as I walked around (with mom's help) in the baby pool.

I'm a very happy boy. Mom was afraid she'd have to let me cry through the night before I actually slept through, but instead, at 12 weeks she listened as I played and cooed through the night.

Every morning I wake up with a big grin on my face to melt my mom's heart.

Growing stronger all the time, I spend my days discovering my hands (fist-bump!)...

strengthening my neck (under the supervision of the cat)...

and learning to sit up like a big boy (17 pounder that I am.)

But before my happy dreams begin each night, I end each day cuddled up to mommy, as Fiona cuddles up to me.

On Friendship

I'm learning a lot about friendship lately. My friend and cousin Holden came over to visit and showed me what big-boy diapers look like. I want to be cool like him some day.

I also got to meet my new buddy, Will Ressel. Since friends play together, we played a neat new game: "Who can scream the loudest?"

My furry friend, Fiona, has been teaching me a lot about the deep, meaningful conversations that can take place between friends.

And, my Aunt Jackie & Uncle Zach took me to the Rockies baseball game to teach me about the game that dad says I'll one day play in the World Series.

Of course, my best friend is my mom. She takes me jogging in my pj's every morning so I can explore the outdoors.

She also helps me to grow stronger by letting me do push-ups on her chest.

Mom's been kinda weepy lately - she's sad to spend a little less time with me when she goes back to work, but I know it'll be a great time for me to become better friends with my grandparents. So I just give the my smile that means I'll be her friend forever, no matter what.

Splishin', Splashin', Sippin', Celebratin'...but mostly Snackin'

Check out my belly! No one I meet seems to believe that I'm only 8 weeks old when the see my 14+ pound frame, but it's true! Mom says I'm a "champ" when it comes to eating (or did she say "chunk?")

Nonetheless, I've had a lot of fun in the last couple weeks between all of that eating...

Mom & dad took me to the Keystone Beer & Bluegrass festival. I kept sneaking peaks at all the people who were hippie dancing to the music.

I also spent a weekend with my favorite ladies - Aunt(s) Erin, Abby, Jackie, Jenny, Becky, Georgie & my Nana Ne - where I attended my first dance festival. I was such a good boy. I was awake for the entire performance and even though my aunts got shushed, I ate & played happily & quietly.

I helped my cousin Ansley to celebrate her big sister Avery's 5th birthday, too. Some day I'll be that big --- Mom says it might be next year at the rate I'm eating & growing.

Well, hunger calls. Guess I'll start squeaking 'til my mom feeds me again.
Ta-tas for now.

To the tune of "Indian Outlaw" by Tim McGraw:

I'm an Indian outlaw,

Half Cowlitz and my mommy's fan,

My daddy he's a workin' man,

He's a one of a kind.

You can find me with my Golden,

I fed myself a bottle then,

I'm cute as a button,

Pass me around.

Don't have my Indian name yet,

"Lil' Sipper" is my paw-paw,

He gets orders from my maw-maw,

Our family's doin' fine.

Take me out to the ballgame, plug your nose in the crowd.

Well, I'm all of 6 weeks, and I get to go into more public places now. I'm very good - I've been to church twice and didn't disrupt anyone with crying. After all, at 12 pounds, I can testify that big boys don't cry.

...Maybe just once in awhile... I did, however, embarrass my dad during one service at my Aunt Jackie's church with a gigantic fart. I waited until the final prayer to let 'er rip and it was so loud that no one thought it infantly possible to be me. Hey - if dad can blame it on the dog, I can blame it on dad... and everyone would believe it.

My uncle Wes came into town and I went to my first baseball game. It was pretty cool - although no one could figure out what I was staring at the whole time. I was so excited afterward that I couldn't sleep for 5 hours that night. For some reason, mom couldn't sleep either.

Well, gotta go. Just a few hours left to soak up some rays.

Sayonara, dudes.

4 weeks old and just as cute as the day I was born!

I'm a whole month old now, & my tummy keeps on growing...

Mom & dad took me to my first pool party to celebrate, but I slept through it.

I've slept through a lot this month. I've been to the mountains twice with mom & dad, I went to my first 4th of July parade with my Grandma Sherry & Grandpa Jerry, I've slept through fireworks, I've been to a wedding reception, and I've slept in the arms of countless friends and family.

To be quite honest, I'm tired, and having to communicate to mom & dad creatively to let them know I'm just not going to wake up for all of these riveting events...

What? Did I do something wrong?

Hi, I'm Porter

Hi there. My name is Porter. My mom and dad picked my name from a baby name book over two years ago when visiting my Aunt Lori & Uncle Jarrod in Juneau, right before my cousin, Dylan was born. The fact that my mom & dad had just tried the Alaskan Porter & liked it helped too. My middle name, David, comes from my dad and grandpa Jerry's middle name.

My eyes are currently navy blue, and my hair is light brown. Check my mow-hawk; I'm stylin. I have some crazy wild dreams - my mom sees my lips curl in a smile as my eyes twitch and she knows I'm dreaming about my favorite thing - well, that is next to sleeping - mom's milk!

I have two siblings, Axl & Fiona. Axl took an immediate like to me, but Fiona was a different story. We're all good now. She gets up with mom & I in the middle of the night and watches us, but she still gets a little jealous of me.

When I was 10 days old, mom & dad took my on my first outing to the mountains. I don't remember much, but dad tried me out on my first chairlift - he's convinced I'm going to be skiing by next year. I think my favorite part of the day was when mom was feeding me and I puked all over her. Then when she set me down, I peed all over her leg. I just wanted to give her a good taste of what being my mommy was all about.

It's time for me to eat again, but I promise to stay in touch.
