Emma Rose is really really really really 3 months old.

Emma Rose is 3 months old.

She LOVES to laugh (especially at herself).

She's really trying to crawl.

And her favorite position is upright.

She really loves her big cousin, Charlie, who is 5 weeks older than she is.

I think she's a really really pretty girl...
(..and, as I'm beginning to learn that girls are "pretty" and boys are "ham-some," I'm also learning that "girls wear dresses and boys wear shorts."

I love to help mommy take care of her.
(For example, if she starts to fuss, I tell Mommy, "Hey Mommy, baby Emma Rose really really really really crying, Mommy.")

But there are still things that baby Emma Rose can't do like big boys can...

I can run "really really really really really...

...really really really really fast."

And I can crawl into my daddy's lap all by myself.

Baby Emma has to be held to sit in a lap.

But it won't be too long before those chunky thighs are really running too, though.

And 'til then, I'm just really really really happy being her big brother.

Happy Birthday, America!

Emma Rose and I have been all smiles around here.

At 2 1/2 months, her stubborn determination is starting to pay off,

...And we've been practicing our favorite song, "Happy Birthday," in preparation for America's big day...

Emma Rose got all dolled up for the occasion,

Though she could help but feel a little ridiculous in all of her cuteness.

I was SO excited to spend even more time outside with my family.

And when evening came, I sang "Happy Birthday" to America.

It was soon after that I saw what happened on America's Birthday, and I grew very concerned:
"Sky messy up there," I kept disapproving when fireworks started to explode.

Uncle Zach came over and made the street messy too.

The noise really worried me, because it was a little louder than "funder."

...So Mommy and I watched the ground get messy from inside until it was time to say "night-night" to America.

This is summer:

Bicycles!!!

(So far I've mastered the driveway. I say, "G-bye mommy. Go store to get bagel," before going to the end of the driveway, and "Almost home!!!" when I return to the garage.

Sunglasses!!! (Even if I insist on wearing them under a winter hat on 80 degree days...)

Popsicles!!!

Designer sandals!

Did I mention designer sandals???

Smiles and Twinkles

There's lots to smile about around here, as Emma Rose can clearly prove:

First, at 2 months, Emma Rose is a nice, full-figured 90th percentile baby,
gigantically following in her big brother's large footsteps.

Second, we've got all kinds of pool-time under our belts.

...making baby Emma Rose nice and golden, like her mom!

Also, I'm learning to do my hair, like Mama!

And - BIG milestone - like a big boy, I put my paci in the garbage truck and waved bye-bye with no tears.

Lastly, I am singing my ABCs at 24 months...
(Well at least a twinkley version of them)
(press play)

Emma Rose just says, "P-shaw... You wait 'til I'm a big whopping 24 months..."

June 13, 2011

Well, it's official.

I'm 2 today, June 13, 2011.

So Mom, Dad & Baby Emma took me to the Denver Firefighters Museum for yet another celebration.

It was A for AWESOME!!!

After dressing up like a "Firetruck Man," I got to spray the hose,

Get inside a real fire truck,

Drive the fire truck,

And make some calls on the radio!

My favorite part was steering the wheel.

This picture pretty much says how much fun I had the entire time:

Such a girl, Emma Rose wasn't quite as thrilled about the whole experience:

(She preferred staring at baby toys...)

But she'll soon find that being 2 is so much fun...

...that turning 2 every day of the year might be her birthday wish some day too.
