Growing

The kids are growing so fast - and they make me smile as they embark on the world with pockets full of thrill and giggles.  Porter ADORES his Daddy and all the adventure he provides.  Here's just a snippet of a fun day we had at the park - Porter's first longboard lesson:

Emma Rose continues to be reckless and adventurous.  I put her in this little float outfit because I got so tired (and embarrassed) by her constantly throwing herself under the water and everyone jumping in to save her.  I couldn't get her out of the water when I put this on --- and lifeguards still jumped in to save her because when she put her face under water and started laughing, they thought she was gasping for air.

Also growing up is Avery!!! She just started the 3rd grade.  I took her out to paint pottery for her birthday and she is just a little teenager - talking about music and friends and putting purple feathers in her hair and saying "like" ALL the time! She really is a sweet kid.

Emma Rose is more and more of a character all the time.  She LOVES shoes (especially shoes with heels) and dressing up.  This video cracks me up.

The kids came to work with me one day, and Emma Rose found these funny socks in my drawer and had to wear them for the rest of the day - to work in the stroller, the whole time at work, and during her nap.  She didn't wear the shoes to work, though.

In the spirit of dressing up, Porter had to sport the cat bed, as hat, and my flip-flops.

Biggest day of all came, proving how much the kids are growing up.  Porter started his first day of preschool.  I, of course, bawled for the entire week leading up to that day.  He loves it, and had no problems saying goodbye to me on that first day.

As I often remind Porter, they'll always be my babies - no matter how big they are.
